About XP100 Finder

Why this exists, and how the data behind it works.

Why this site exists

India moved almost entirely to E20 (20% ethanol) petrol, but three 100-octane, effectively ethanol-free grades still exist: Indian Oil's XP100, HPCL's poWer100, and BPCL's Speed 100. They're sold at a small fraction of outlets nationwide, and there was no easy way to find one near you. XP100 Finder was built to close that gap — a single map of every known outlet, filterable by state and city, with distance sorting and crowd-sourced availability so the list stays honest over time.

Who this is for

Anyone who wants ethanol-free fuel, but especially owners of vehicles most exposed to E20 damage: BS3 and older vehicles, BS4 vehicles registered before April 2023, carbureted engines, high-performance and imported vehicles, classic and vintage vehicles, and vehicles that sit unused for long stretches. See the E20 Ethanol Guide for why these categories are most at risk.

How the data is sourced

XP100 station locations come from Indian Oil Corporation's published outlet list. poWer100 station locations come from an RTI (Right to Information) request filed directly with HPCL, whose reply listed 17 outlet names and districts nationwide; each was individually geocoded to a physical location. Speed 100 station locations come from BPCL's official Speed 100 outlet list, also individually geocoded — a small number carry a lower-confidence flag where the geocode could not be pinned to an exact address, pending confirmation via a follow-up RTI request to BPCL. Availability status — whether a station currently has stock — is reported by users after they navigate to a station, capped at one report per device per station every 24 hours to limit spam.

What this site is not

XP100 Finder is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, or Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. It doesn't sell fuel, verify stations in person, or guarantee real-time accuracy — availability reports reflect what other users have recently found, not a live feed from any oil company. Outlets do occasionally start or stop stocking these fuels; if you find outdated information, reporting it or emailing a correction helps everyone who uses the site after you.
